Application to the School of Business begins with applying to Virginia Commonwealth University and indicating that you would like to study business.

Study begins with the Business Foundations program, a two-year pre-business curriculum that includes both Humanities & Sciences courses and introductory business courses taught by business faculty in Snead Hall, the new home of the School of Business.

After completing 45 credit hours, students must apply for admission to the Advanced Program and declare a major. This generally happens in the second semester of the sophomore year.

All admissions to the School of Business are made on a competitive basis. Once formally accepted into a major, students spend their junior and senior years on advanced business coursework taught in Snead Hall.

Exceptional freshmen may be offered admission directly into a major. They may also be invited to participate in the Honors College and are eligible for merit scholarships. Even if admitted directly into a major, freshmen must complete the Business Foundations curriculum before moving on to their advanced business courses.

Transfer students may be admitted directly into the a major, or they may be admitted into the business foundations program and asked to apply for admission into the Advanced Program and a major after they have completed 45 credit hours and core requirements.
