    • Welcome to the Department of Economics
    • Welcome to the Department of Economics at Virginia Commonwealth University. Our 13 full-time faculty members strive to provide a challenging and stimulating curricula to undergraduates and Master of Arts students and to maintain productive research agenda. A recent study ranked us as the 109th most productive Department in the US, a rating that is impressive given our small size. Members of the faculty, individually and in conjunction with the Center for Public Policy, conduct a wide variety of economic analyses and statistical studies for public and private organizations.
