VCU’s Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate offers high quality programs for the development and communication of knowledge in studies related to Finance, Real Estate, Risk Management & Insurance, Financial Planning, Financial Technology, and Actuarial science. We are committed to the professional advancement and success of our students, as demonstrated by our offering of programs that develop important and necessary skills.

Many of our department's faculty members hold Ph.D's from top business schools, and have published in leading journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Financial Management, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and Real Estate Economics.
