Frederick D. Facka, MS ’92, right, received the School of Business Alumnus of the Year award from Steve Brincefield, MS'74, School of Business Alumni Board President, on May 2.

The Alumnus of the Year award is given in recognition of outstanding career achievement, community involvement, and service to the School of Business.

Fred recently started his own company, Tuckahoe Asset Management.  He is founder of the Association of Real Estate Alumni (AREA) and serves on the School of Business Alumni Board.

Thomas A. Silvestri, MBA '86, right, was presented the VCU Alumni Star Award by Dan Massey, BS'92, VCU Alumni Association President, on May 17.

The Alumni Star is awarded to outstanding alumni from across the university in recognition of professional achievement and university service.

Tom is president and publisher of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.  He is past-president of the School of Business Alumni Board and will soon be chairman of Leadership Metro Richmond.
