VCU won the Virginia HR Games competition that took place on Saturday, March 29 in Harrisonburg.
The HR Games are a Jeopardy-style competition sponsored annually by the Society for Human Resource Management. The HR categories covered in the competition reflect the body of knowledge covered in HR professional certification exams. James Madison University, Christopher Newport University, Liberty University, and VCU each entered two teams in the competition. VCU's teams placed first and third, and will be going on to compete in the Southeast regional April 18-19 in Knoxville, TN.
Members of the winning VCU Gold team are Lauren Philip (captain), Tashea Lipscomb, and Annette Martell. Members of the third-place VCU Black team are Jorli Swingen (captain), Corey Hence, and Rodney Steppe. Special recognition goes to Jorli Swingen for coordinating the HR Games training effort, and Dr. Marianne Miller, Associate Professor and Assistant Chair of the Management department.
